Raffle winners drawn at The Regal Theatre, Kensington

The Polio Ute Relay raffle was drawn at the Regal Theatre, Kensington. Dick Johnson from the Rotary Club of Adelaide and Chairman of Australian Rotary Health drew the 16winning tickets as co-ordinator Sarah Walsh from the rotary. Club of. Glenelg announced the results. Winners were representative of the 3 States the ute had traversed during its 2500 km relay linking the 50 Rotary clubs in the district.

The ute came to the end of its relay at the Porchetta Night run by the Rotary Club of Cambelltown. Members celebrated the successful advertising campaign.

Southern Messenger welcomes the Mazda Ute.

The Mazda Ute was welcomed by the Southern Messenger as it toured the Noarlunga area. The rotary. Clubs of Noarlunga, Noarlunga East and Hallett Cove all sold raffle tickets to help raise funds for the. End Polio. Now campaign that the Ute was promoting.

St Peters Gala Shed Sale


St Peters Rotary Club is promoting the Polio Ute Relay at their  shed sale this morning.



Norwood collects Polio donations and meets survivors.

The Ute is nearing the end of the relay as it arrives in Norwood. Rotarians collected donations for the End Polio Now campaign while chatting to Polio survivors. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is matching all donations made to the Rotary Foundation  2:1. A $10 donation immediately becomes $30 and a $5 raffle ticket becomes worth $15, providing sufficient funds to vaccinate 25 children.

Unley hosts the Polio Mazda Ute

The Rotary Clubs of Unley and Hyde Park displayed the Polio ute at the Unley Shopping Centre on Tuesday and. Thursday this week. As expected, it created a lot of interest and questions from the public. What is Rotary? What is Polio?




Ute meets The Lord Mayor of Adelaide at the Eastwood Business Breakfast

The Rotary Club of Eastwood held another successful Business Breakfast on Wednesday 21 October. Over 70attendees heard Adelaide Lord Mayor, Martin Haese, speak about his business life and his visions for Adelaide and SA. Guests also admired the End Polio Now Ute strategically parked on the footpath, at the front of the venue, onDequetteville Terrace (as did the thousands of cars passing).
Martin Haese spoke of his approach in business – when it is working well, change it. He was “always tinkering” and stressed the need to never be complacent. He successfully ran a chain of retail stores in Adelaide and Melbourne, was a board member of the Rundle Mall Authority, then its General ManagerUntil earlier this year he was the chair of the Bay to Birdwood rally. His wish is to see more export businesses in SA – we are the lowest per capita in Australia. He is also passionate about renewable energy, and has been invited to Paris to speak on a Carbon Neutral City.



Edwardstown Book Exchange

The Mazda ute visited the Edwardstown book shop on Monday, providing an extra topic of conversation to all those book lovers in the area.

DG Dick welcomes the ute to Stirling.

DG Dick And Liz welcomed the Mazda ute to their home club of Stirling. 

Visiting Guest Speaker at Illuminate II, Noel Trevaskis OAM and his wife clamoured on board for a special photo shoot while Rotarians from Stirling and Onkaparinga sold raffle tickets and looked after the sausage sizzle on a sizzling hot day!

Marion Markets and the Holdfast Bay Concert Band 2.

The Holdfast Bay Concert Band 2 entertained the public at the Marion Markets this morning with a selection of songs from popular movies. Rotarians from the clubs of Glenelg, Somerton Park and Holdfast Bay encouraged shoppers to donate 70cents - enough to vaccinate a child against polio. The Markets were a busy place this morning and the public gave generously to this important fundraising and awareness campaign.

The Mazda Ute has come back to see me for the weekend! Saturday we parked it at Coles, Glenelg where it sparked much interest in the End Polio campaign and encouraged lots of shoppers to buy raffle tickets and donate to such a good cause.


Well- being Day at Christies Beach High School

The Mazda Ute was made most welcome at the Christies Beach High School Well-being Day. As this was Friday 9th October, it formed part of Hat Day for Australian Rotary Health, raising awareness of and funds for research into Mental Health.


Hallett Cove's new Civic Centre was a great place to promote the Mazda Polio Ute.

President Satish, Secretary Margaret and Community Service Director Grant Sibly assisted in this project.The Polio Ute was parked in front of the new Hallett Cove Civic Centre. It was a great opportunity to promote Polio Programmes and Rotary in general.  The Public showed much interest in the project and we had inquiries.The impact was great and we were able to raise awareness and promote Rotary and the work it has done in eradicating polio.


Mazda Polio Ute forms part of the CHEER Festival at Noarlunga.


President Alan Nelson, MP for Reynell Katrine Hildyard, and Assistant Governor Dini Whyte, hosted the Rotary End Polio Now Ute at the CHEER Festival held at Ramsay Place, Noarlunga Centre.
CHEER stands for Comfort and Happiness for Each and Every Resident. What a lovely thought !
