Dear
Chief of Staff
Attached
is the Media Release and the Rotary Polio Ute Relay Staging posts with over 30
events in 30 days and the map of the trip.
Rotary
District 9520 Rotary Polio Ute Relay starts tomorrow at Broken Hill, Helping to
Eradicate Polio Worldwide.
The
Relay is designed to increase the awareness of polio and raise critically
needed funds to eradicate this crippling disease.
The
Mazda BT50, Rotary Polio Ute will travel from Broken Hill to Wentworth, then
onto Mildura and into SA’s Riverland region, visiting the townships of Renmark,
Loxton and Waikerie. It will then pass through Murray Bridge, before
heading to the Southern Fleurieu, followed by a number of Adelaide venues.
The Relay will conclude on Sunday 25th October, to coincide with World
Polio Day.
Rotary
9520 District Governor, Dick Wilson
said that this Rotary Polio Ute Relay comes at an important time in the
fight to eradicate polio, which would be only the second human disease to be
eradicated. Case numbers of the disease have never been lower, and only three
countries (Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan) have never stopped transmission
of the wild polio virus.
Rotary
Polio Ute key handover with Kevin Bew of Paradise Motors and Sarah Walsh who
instigated this Rotary Polio Ute Relay.
